Home-Based Stroke Rehabilitation Helping Patients Recover More Effectively

April 2026

← Back to News

Home based stroke rehabilitation is helping patients recover more effectively while reducing time spent in hospital. A pilot programme by University Hospitals Dorset found that stroke patients receiving rehabilitation at home were able to return home around 13 days earlier while still receiving the same intensity of therapy from a multidisciplinary team. Delivering rehabilitation in a familiar home environment allows therapy to be tailored to everyday activities, helps patients regain independence more quickly, and supports a smoother transition from hospital to normal life.
